Xiaomi has been working on its 100W “Super Charge Turbo” for quite some time with the company demonstrating the technology earlier this year. Xiaomi has now made its 100W fast charging official and shared some more details about it. The 100W fast charging technology, Xiaomi claims, can charge a phone with 4000mAh battery in just a span of 17 minutes. At the conference, the company also demonstrated a video showing how well the 100W super charge turbo tech works. Xiaomi has also teased dual punch-hole cameras for the same. Meanwhile, Vivo is also reportedly working on its 120W fast charging technology. But details are scarce at the moment.
As for the Oppo phone with 3,700mAh battery, the company’s 50W SuperVOOC charge achieved 65% juice within the same amount of time. Soon to compete with Xiaomi is Vivo which has already confirmed its 120W fast charging technology. This would also be Xiaomi’s first native fast charging technology. The company uses Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology for its smartphones.
Xiaomi explains that the 100W supercharge turbo tech comes with a high-voltage charge pump bundled with 9-fold charge protection. The company further says that the out of the 9-fold protection, 7 are for the motherboard while the 2-fold protection is for the battery.
Notably, for now, Xiaomi hasn’t revealed the name of smartphones that will come with the 100W super charge turbo tech. Most likely Xiaomi flagships launching next year will come with this technology.
