0

To help limit distractions or make meetings more fun, you can now blur or replace your background or replace it with an image, an immersive background, or a video. You can also apply styles to customize your video with various light, color filters and stylized backgrounds. To help devices better run real-time video, you can process background blur effects and light adjustments in the cloud. This feature saves battery and processor power and optimizes meeting quality.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open Google Meet.
  2. Enter the meeting code or link. If you are hosting the meeting, start and enter the meeting.
  3. Once in the self-view preview, click the Apple visual effects button. This is the three small stars button that will show up in the bottom right corner of the window.
  4. Here, you will see different effects, along with categories like “Blur,” “Background” and more, which will lead you to these effects.
  5. There are two options to blur – one is more dense, while the other is a lighter blur effect.
  6. Once done, close the window, and your background will appear blurred to you and other members in the meeting.

To change your Google Meet background on a Mac, select the three-dot menu in the meeting controls, select change background, and then change the background of blur it according to your requirement.
