Realme is tying up with Marvel’s upcoming movie Spider-Man: Far From Home. As part of this collaboration, the company has now officially announced the Realme X Spider-Man: Far From Home special edition smartphone in China. The smartphone has been priced at CNY 1,799 (approx Rs 18,000) and comes in a 8GB + 128GB variant. It will go on sale in China from July 9, and it is also expected to come to India.
Realme CEO Madhav Sheth also announced the collaboration between Realme and Marvel, and the company is expected to bring the Realme X Spider-Man: Far From Home edition to India next month following the launch of the Realme X. The image below shows what the retail box and case for this special edition device will look like. The Realme X phone itself will not offer any special colour finish on the outside, but it will come with a Spiderman-themed icon pack and wallpaper. The Realme X’s launch will likely coincide with the launch of the Redmi K20 in India. The Realme X touts a notchless AMOLED display, pop-up selfie camera and a 48MP rear camera, among other things, which are features shared by the Redmi K20 as well. In China, the Realme X is powered by a Snapdragon 710 chipset, but it is speculated that the Indian variant will rock a faster Snapdragon 730 processor to compete against the Redmi K20. Realme’s Madhav Sheth has also confirmed that the Realme X will cost around Rs 18,000 in India.
The special edition Realme X offers specs similar to the original phone. It sports a 6.53-inch FHD+ AMOLED notchless display with over 91 per cent screen ratio. It is powered by a 2.2Ghz octa-core Snapdragon 710 chipset in China with up to 8GB of RAM. The pop-up camera mechanism houses a 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera. You also get a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary camera on the back paired with a 5MP secondary sensor. The handset houses a 3,765mAh battery and supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging.
