Much-Awaited edit button has finally started rolling out on Twitter.

Twitter has confirmed in a tweet that it has started testing the edit button and users will now be able to see edited tweets.

What is an edit button?

If you have ever made a typo or a mistake while tweeting, you may have wished for a way to correct it. The edit button is the answer to this issue and will allow you to edit your tweets easily. At present, users will get 30 minutes to edit their tweet once it has been published. To prevent misuse, Twitter has said that an icon will be added to tweets to indicate that they have been edited. In addition to this, users will be able to click on the label to view the edit history and the past versions of the tweet.

Earlier this year, the edit button was confirmed by the micro-blogging platform, much to the rejoice of millions of Tweeple using the platform. Twitter Blue is available in the aforementioned countries for a monthly fee of $4.99 (Rs 400 approx). “Later this month, they’ll be expanding Edit Tweet access to Twitter Blue subscribers. As part of their subscription, they receive early access to features and help us test them before they come to Twitter,” Twitter said. “We’ll also be paying close attention to how the feature impacts the way people read, write, and engage with Tweets,” the company added.

We’re hoping that, with the availability of Edit Tweet, Tweeting will feel more approachable and less stressful. You should be able to participate in the conversation in a way that makes sense to you, and we’ll keep working on ways that make it feel effortless to do just that.
